African Management Institute Named to Financial Times 2024 Fastest Growing Businesses in Africa
15th May 2024
Kigali, Rwanda – The African Management Institute (AMI) has earned a prestigious spot on The Financial Times 2024 Fastest Growing Businesses in Africa list with the 2nd fastest growth rate in the Education and Social Services category and ranked 67th overall out of the 125 companies. The listing ranks companies across Africa by the highest compound annual growth (CAGR) in revenues between 2019 – 2022. AMI’s growth during this period is a reflection of the company’s sustained growth and resilience while coming out of the Covid-19 season.
Speaking in Kigali at the Africa CEO Forum, AMI’s CEO and co-founder, Rebecca Harrison, shared her thoughts about the recognition and gratitude for the dedication of AMI’s team and partners.
“As we celebrate our tenth year in business, as an African champion for Africa’s business champions, we’re deeply honored to be recognized among the Financial Times Fastest Growing Businesses in Africa for 2024. From Kigali to Cape Town, Nairobi to Lagos, we see resilient, ambitious businesses and entrepreneurs rising to meet the challenges of our time. Over the last ten years AMI has been a part of the journey of over 30,000 businesses and we’re proud to have played a part in guiding leaders, managers and the continent’s workforce to reach their business goals through practical experiences and training.”
The effectiveness of AMI’s practical learning programmes has been a key factor in its growth. Focused on improving individual performance, increasing skills and powering business results for the continent’s most critical sectors and businesses, AMI’s deep ability to track effectiveness of programming has shown that 93% of learners apply what they learn on the job and 86% of businesses report improved performance.
Through its blended learning programs, AMI has become a critical partner for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), impact partners, and the continent’s growth stage and established companies, all striving to improve performance, drive growth and compete globally.
Founded in 2014, AMI has grown rapidly by identifying gaps in conventional training and creating solutions that meet the practical needs of business leaders in Africa. AMI’s programs target learning needs through diagnostics, deliver live learning experiences, and reinforce concepts learned through downloadable tools and on-the-job action learning activities.
In addition to its work with SMEs, AMI has developed partnerships with multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations, and development agencies, offering a suite of services that bolster productivity and competitiveness.
